The Certificate of Safety Training or STCW10 course which use to be called STCW95 is an Internationally recognised course that is classified as the Basic Sea Safety Training and we are AMSA approved to offer this course which meets the following requirements:
This course is based on the IMO Model Course 1.21 Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities (PSSR) and is designed to meet the mandatory minimum requirements seafarers in the areas of familiarization of basic safety training in accordance with Section A-VI/1 of the STCW Code ‘95.

This course aims to provide the training for candidates in fire prevention and fire fighting in accordance with Section A-VI/1 of the STCW Code.
The course aims (and content of these Notes) are based on the IMO Model Course 1.19 Proficiency in Personal Survival Techniques and are designed to meet the mandatory minimum requirements for seafarers for familiarization, basic safety training and instruction in accordance with Section A-VI/1 of the STCW Code 95. This course is intended to provide the knowledge required for those shipboard personnel who are not formally assigned specific duties in connection with the ship and port security plans but are involved in work on-board vessels and in port precincts and are therefore directly affected by the requirements of the IMO ISPS Code and the STCW Code as amended.

ECA Maritime College will not issue any certification without either a current Australian issued Senior First Aid certificate or completion of a higher-grade medical aid course (such as Workplace Level 2 First Aid) conducted within Australia. This certificate will need to be current as per the validity period indicated on the certificate being provided at the time of course Completion.
The above Statement of Attainment will be issued by ECA to participants who successfully complete the course including 100% attendance, full participation and completion of all practical exercises is required in order to successfully complete the course and qualify for the issue of the course Certificate.
