Elements Shipboard Safety is part of the MAR Shipboard Safety Skill Set and from the MAR Maritime Training Package.

Online Self-Paced Theory – This could take you up to 1 day to complete.
Practical Day – 1 day
Online Theory – Complete your online ESS theory component and then book on one of our many practical days throughout the year.
The first half of the day is in the practical component, firefighting, flare demonstrations, and onboard a vessel to see all the safety components of a commercially registered vessel. Please make sure you wear a long-sleeved shirt, long trousers, and enclosed shoes.
Second half of the day is in the swimming pool, please ensure you bring a change of clothes as you must be fully clothed for the pool activity.

There are no entry requirements for this course, this is your entry course into the Maritime Industry as a Deckhand.
