This qualification applies to people working in the maritime industry seeking an Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) certification in the capacity of Master on vessels up to 45 metres in length within the exclusive economic zone (EEZ).

Elements of Shipboard Safety: To complete the full Certificate IV in Maritime Operations (Master 45M or Mate 100M) qualification students are required to complete the Elements of Shipboard Safety units. Students who have completed Elements of Shipboard Safety in the past 5 years will not have to repeat this course, you will have to provide a copy of your certificate.
This qualification is suitable for those sailing as Master on vessels up to 45 metres in length within the exclusive economic zone (EEZ) or a Mate on vessels up to 100 metres in length.
Zoom Classroom Sessions – 6.5 weeks + relevant sea time
Remote / Flexible – 12 months from enrolment date
Zoom Classroom sessions – We deliver these classrooms exactly the same way we would in a building except we use a different platform – ZOOM. The feedback we have received from our clients has encouraged us to continue this pathway.
If you enrol in a classroom session this can be completed in a 6-week time frame, we start at 0800 to 1600 Monday to Friday. You will be required to complete your assignments in the evening and work on Sundays to complete your coursework.
All theory sessions will be live interactive classes, written exams will be monitored through these sessions and you will have access to all your resources via our online portal.
Remote / Flexible – If you do not wish to attend classes or you do not have the time to attend you can study remotely. Enrol and pay your course fees you will be issued all the course material via an online portal. This is where you access all your resources, and assignments, complete and upload them for your assessor to mark and give you feedback. When necessary you will be given direct access to your trainer to assist you through this process. All students will be assessed practically which can be completed at our Brisbane Office, offsite for Corporate Clients or groups of 8 or more, provided all the resources required have been audited and approved.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
To convert this certificate to a Marine Licence you must have the required sea time as stipulated by AMSA. Please make sure you meet these requirements.
